  • On Wednesday, August 15th Buffalo River Fest Park will be host their “Wednesday Night Summer Concert Series” at the park, located at 249 Ohio Street, Buffalo, New York. The concert will run from 6:30pm to 10pm and will feature the local band Breakaway.

After their debut in 2010, Breakaway has rapidly become one of the “must see” bands in the Buffalo music scene. Combining expert musicianship, amazing vocal harmonies and unmatched energy and stage presence, the band brings a wide variety of music from many different eras. Whether it’s the Beatles, 70’s funk, 80’s hair metal, all of your favorite 90’s tunes, 2000’s, Alternative, and Modern Rock – Breakaway plays it!

Band members include: Bruce Decker (Keyboards, Vocals); Cory Klawon (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar); Mike Schill (Bass, Vocals); and Jeff Kocher (Lead Guitar, Vocals). Breakaway was previously named Top New Rock Band at both the Buffalo Music Awards and the Nightlife Awards. They have played at various Western New York venues and events including Santora’s, Hamburg Burgerfest, Mickey Rats, Armor Inn Tap Room, the Erie County Fair, and M&T Plaza. For more information about the band, visit their website at www.breakawaybandrocks.com or their Facebook page.

Admission is free and food and refreshments will be sold at the concert, with all proceeds supporting Buffalo River Fest Park maintenance and other riverfront development. No coolers will be allowed and spectators are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Parking is free and is available on surrounding side streets.

The Wednesday Night Concert Series will feature some of the best local bands playing against the backdrop of the historic Buffalo River and grain elevators.
