Join us for a tour of both cathedrals in downtown Buffalo! This tour will take an in-depth look at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral and St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cathedral. Both cathedrals were constructed in the mid-1800s as Buffalo prospered following the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825. On this tour, learn about the history about the cathedrals while gaining an appreciation for their architecture and design features, including stained glass. The two cathedrals are one block away from each other in downtown Buffalo, so the walking distance of this tour is only two blocks total.
This tour meets at Mon Ami Cafe & Bakery, which is located across Cathedral Park from St. Paul’s Cathedral. Mon Ami’s building address is 298 Main Street, but the cafe’s main entrance is on Cathedral Park. Street parking is available on nearby streets such as Pearl and Swan Streets, and there are also several paid parking lots and ramps available nearby. The nearest Metro Rail stop is the Church Street station on Main Street, approximately one block away.
