  • George Scott a sax player has played for many Big and Combo Jazz groups over the years. His influences growing up were Count Basie, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, David Sanborn, Glover Washington, Micheal Becker, Dexter Gordon, Stanley Clark, Mingus, and Bob Mintzer. The George Scott Big Band was formed 1995 at the Historic Colored Musicians Club located at 145 Broadway, Buffalo, NY were the Band stil rehearses every Monday starting at 8pm. The Band plays a variety of music: Swing, Standards, Latin, Dance, and Vocals. We are a 17 piece band featuring Melissa Kate on vocals. We performed at Summer Festivals, Senior Centers, Churches, Schools & Colleges, Plays, Fundraisers, sporting events and more.

    The Colored Musicians Club is the longest continuously operating African-American Musicians Club in the entire United States.

    Buffalo Place will proudly produce the third annual Queen City Social, beginning on Thursday, June 21st and continuing for eight consecutive Thursdays through August 9th. The free and open-to-the-public happy hour, presented by M&T Bank, will feature all things local, including live local music, local libations, and local bites from Downtown eateries.
