  • The Market takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays on Main Street between Court and Church Streets through October 24, 2019 from 10a through 2:30p each day.  Buffalo Place Inc. thanks and recognizes M&T Bank for their continued support of Buffalo Place Inc., the Downtown Country Market and Downtown Buffalo.

    The Market provides a delightful shopping experience for residents, workers and visitors, and features an eclectic mix of fresh goods and fine wares. The Downtown Country Market is a proud participant in the Pride of New York Program, Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, Field & Fork Network Double Up Food Bucks Program, and the Farmers’ Market Federation of New York.

    Free Country Market Squared activities, presented by M&T Bank, will be offered in Lafayette Square weekly on Thursdays beginning with the regular season opening on June 13th through August 1st*. Several special activities will be presented during the inaugural Country Market Squared season. The kick-off will feature Chef Camille of Pastry by Camille, who will share his crepe-making tips and tricks and locally-inspired recipe card with visitors. Guests will join in on the tasty fun, enjoying delectable samples while Chef Camille cooks and creates with fresh goods from Country Market vendors.

    Vintage Chameleon will offer take-home planting demonstrations for visitors several Thursdays throughout the Country Market Squared season. Julia Hardick, the Vintage Chameleon herself, will engage and educate guests with take-home plantings, including “Kokedama” moss hanging baskets. Seedlings from Country Market growers, soil, moss, and planting process supplies will be provided to green thumbs that join in during the lunch hour.

    Special outdoor activities in Lafayette Square wouldn’t be complete without our very own Downtown Dog Days, a celebration of Buffalo’s recent designation as Buzzfeed’s “Best Dog-Friendly City.” Buffalo Place will celebrate Downtown residents and their four-legged friends with several lunch hour celebrations. Tasty dog treats from Downtown retailer, Buffalo Barkery, will be provided as part of the celebration. Guests will also receive Country Market Squared free collapsible water bowls, and can enter to win a very special doggie bag, filled with paw-some treats and goodies from Buffalo Barkery. In addition to the give-away items, Buffalo Place will proudly partner with several animal advocacy and adoption organizations.  who will share their adorably-adoptable furry friends with potential new families in Lafayette Square.

    2019 Country Market Squared activities, Presented by M&T Bank, will be presented in Lafayette Square, during the lunch hour, on Thursdays from June 13th through August 1st (no activities on Thursday, July 4th). All activities, food samples, and giveaway items are free for participating visitors. The 2019 schedule will feature:

    There will be no Downtown Country Market on July 4, 2019 in observance of the Independence Day Holiday.

    Buffalo Place Inc. is the not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the economic health and quality of life in Downtown Buffalo.  Buffalo Place manages the Downtown core surrounding the pedestrian mall, which was developed as part of the Light Rail Rapid Transit Project.  Buffalo Place activities are partially funded by special charges paid over and above property taxes within Downtown’s Special Charge District.  We strive to make Downtown Buffalo clean, safe, and fun.
