The “Hollywood Holidays” experience begins the moment guests arrive at the theatre. As they enter the lobby, they will be surrounded by Hollywood magic with exhibits featuring original props, costumes and more from Universal’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” On loan from a local collector, the exhibits re-create scenes from the movie and are the perfect background for a holiday photo. Each year, the exhibits are changed to highlight both different scenes from the movie but also new items added to the collection. The collection is noted as being the second largest in the country.
One very special day during this holiday celebration is “Grinch Day” on December 8th. The day includes meet the collector, costumed characters, and, weather permitting, an appearance on the Grinch’s sleigh, one of two used in the movie.
In the spirit of giving, The Aurora Theatre has invited Kaely’s Kindness and Toys for Tots to be recipients of the celebration. Visitors are asked to support both with either a financial donation or a new, unwrapped toy.
“Hollywood Holidays” would not be possible without the generous support of its sponsors. This year’s events are presented by Ameriprise Financial-The Mulcahy Neff Group, Aurora Smiles, The Bank of Holland and West Herr Buick, GMC, Cadillac with support from the Bee Papers, Crossroads Christian Church, Mud, Sweat and Gears, Pizza Del Aureo and the UPS Store-East Aurora.
