  • Exploring color as artists and scientists as we utilize natural items such as food and flowers to create a custom tie dye t-shirt. Allowing children to investigate how plants can create natural pigment and patterns on natural fibers. Playing with petals and getting messy with food as we create a one of a kind masterpiece.

    NOTE – Please state the size of t-shirt needed upon purchasing. Shirts can be cured for up to a week to deepen color after steaming. When you return home with your bundle you may choose to steam for an additional hour or store in a cool, dry space away from sunlight while you allow the piece to cure.

    Ages: 7 years and up

    Materials: Botanical dye materials include food scraps, herbs and floral waste that will be provided along with a pre-treated cotton t-shirt to dye. Students are welcome to bring their own natural fiber garment to experiment with as well.

    Botanical alchemist Nicole Vescio works with plants on many mediums. From growing flowers and herbs upon her urban farm to wildcrafting and ethically sourcing materials, skin care, body care, energetic healing, and art. A meditative look into allowing plants to guide us, opening ourselves to a deeper connection to the planet which we reside. Cultivating a nourishing relationship between earth and self, reflected in the many ways life (Botanics) can be translated into healing.
