    An Adult + Child Session in The Woodshop
    July 18th, 1-4pm

    Discover and share the joys of working with your hands. This class is structured to safely, simply and yet systematically enable an adult/child pair to learn to use The Foundry’s Woodshop tools. The session is designed to enable two mixed-aged students to make something extraordinary from different types and different colored wood. Mother-Son, Aunt-Nephew, Grandfather-Granddaughter participants (as well as many other possible pairings) are welcome when the younger student is between the ages of 10-15 (and has permission from a non-attending parent or guardian) and the elder is between 21-120. Act quickly, only four pairs can work in our shop during a session!

    What you’ll learn:

    ~Measuring for project success
    ~Determining the right tool for different processes
    ~All about miters
    ~Safe saw use and cutting wood at different angles
    ~To distinguish different types of wood by grain and color
    ~Proper positioning for hammering
    ~When to use wood glue
    ~Collaborative design skills


    Class Cost: $25 for each participant – $50 for each pair (all materials included)
    Class Size: Min 2 pairs/ Max 4 pairs
