Netta Yerushalmy is an Israeli-born choreographer and dancer, based in New York City since 2000. In 2018-19 her touring work will be Paramodernities, a unique multidisciplinary project that engages deeply with the canon of modern dance in radical, reverent and subversive ways to spark new ideas, choreographies and conversations. It is a series of lecture-performances, or dance-experiments, generated through deconstructions of landmark modern choreographies by Bob Fosse, Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, and other 20th century dance pioneers. Paramodernities is performed by a diverse cast of revered dancers alongside contributions by scholars and writers who situate these iconic works within the larger project of Modernism.
