The 61st annual Niagara County Peach Festival will be held September 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th at Academy Park on Center Street in Lewiston. An estimated crowd exceeding 35,000 is expected over the now four-day popular festival.
For the first time the festival will fully open on Thursday night, September 6th with all food, craft vendors and rides operational. Last year Thursday night was ride preview night, but on September 6th the festival will be 100% operational including stage entertainment.
The Niagara County Peach Festival has been held by the Lewiston Kiwanis since 1958, having raised well over one million dollars in goods and donations for area charities and organizations from festival proceeds.
Once again fresh peaches will be used for the peach shortcake, grown in Niagara County at Bittner-Singer Farms at 6620 Lake Road in Appleton. The Peach Festival is again expected to serve more than 13,000 pounds (6.5 tons) of locally harvested peaches along with the fresh shortcake made by the famous local DiCamillo Bakery.
An official media event will be held at Academy Park in August to announce the full schedule of events and features for the 2018 festival, including samples of the delicious peach shortcake. More information on the 2018 Niagara County Peach Festival can be found at www.lewistonpeachfestival.org.
