  • Work on your tapestry weaving projects in an inspired, fun atmosphere with an experienced instructor available for help, advice, and all things handwoven. You’ll receive a refresher on basic techniques, plenty of ideas and encouragement.

    This is the perfect opportunity to finish your WIPs (works in progress) or start a new project with other beginner/intermediate weavers in a supportive creative community. Additionally, you’ll have access to our supplemental yarn “Fiber Bar”. Vanessa, our weaving instructor, will be available to help refresh you on techniques and give you ideas for further exploration. You’ll also receive a 24 yard bobbin of cotton warp included with the studio time, with the option to purchase a Tapestry Weaving Companion additionally.

    Have you abandoned a weaving project or put it aside in defeat, completely overwhelmed? Perhaps you need a creative boost or have questions to help get your weaving mojo back.

    This studio time is perfect for students who have previously taken Vanessa’s Beginner Tapestry Weaving Workshop or who have a basic understanding of weaving on their own tapestry frame loom. *Note: these studio hours ARE NOT geared towards rigid heddle or table top harness loom weaving.

    Ages: Most suitable for adults of all ages.

    Materials: Please come prepared with the weaving project you are working on. BYOY (yarn), tapestry loom, all weaving supplies, a pen to jot down ideas, and beverage/snacks if desired.

    Instructor: Vanessa Lauria of pidge pidge

    Vanessa Lauria is the maker and artist behind pidge pidge. She weaves modern scarves, accessories and home decor that merge the craft of traditional weaving with a passion for modern color and texture. Her work is colorful and vibrant, and she loves to experiment with unique fibers and play with unexpected color combinations. Vanessa has previously taught weaving workshops in Buffalo and Joshua Tree, CA. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus on Fibers from Syracuse University.
