People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.”

What happens when a government no longer serves its constituents? What actions can be taken, should be taken, will be taken? Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar challenges us to consider these questions, and places before us the possibility that what succeeds a tyrant isn’t necessarily utopian.

In Danielle Rosvally’s production of Shakespeare’s play, the time is now and the place is here. The actors are us: college students, citizens, constituents. Civil strife is not a phenomenon isolated behind the glass panes of history. Join us as we explore the notions of unrest, popularism, tyranny, and governance through this stripped down and thought provoking production of Julius Caesar.
