By now, you’ve surely heard of the Rochester Bloody Mary Fest, but you might still be wondering what it’s all about. How does it work? What’s included in my ticket? Can anybody possibly drink that many Bloody Marys in one day? Here is everything you need to know to be fully ready and mentally prepared for all that this day has to offer. If you already have your ticket, this will get you real excited. If you haven’t, then this should be all the enticing you could possibly need.
Where it all began…
Let’s just say that the Step Out Buffalo team has a weakness for a good Bloody Mary, and we know we’re not alone. So, we brought a friendly competition featuring the beloved brunch drink to Buffalo — and Buffalonians loved it. The event sold out and competition was fierce. So we brought it back the following year and it was somehow even better than the first. Well, turns out, this was totally unfair to our neighbors over in Rochester. We heard the requests, and now we’re delivering by bringing this kickass event to Rochester on October 15, 217!

THE EVENT
The people and visitors of Rochester, NY need your vote to decide who in Rochester can dream up the best Bloody Marys in Rochester. Oh, you have to work that day/ Have prior commitments? SKIP IT! You have an obligation that needs your imminent attention. Once you arrive at Rochester’s Main Street Armory, you’ll stop by the check in desk before beginning your difficult, yet super fun and yummy task as a Bloody Mary judge. Tasting tickets in hand, you’ll sample ten brilliantly crafted Bloody Marys from each of the participating bars, including Bitter Honey, Black Button Distilling, Blu Wolf Bistro, The Cub Room, Hogans Hideaway, The Honeoye Boat House Grille, LLC, Nosh, ORBS Restaurant and Bar, The Revelry, and ROAM Cafe. Every Bloody Mary will have just one thing in common: award-winning vodka from the local WNY Tommyrotter Distillery. Once you’ve tasted them all, you will place your vote for each Bloody award: “Rochester’s Best Bloody Mary,” “Best Garnished Bloody Mary,” and “Most Creative Bloody Mary.” Like we said, this is a tough job.
Bloody Mary’s are the ultimate brunch drink, so it’s only natural that we’re serving up some of brunch’s most tempting foods too. If you need to refresh your palate or curb your sweet tooth cravings, head over to Duke’s Donuts or Something Delicious Bake Shop. Plus, Joe Bean Coffee Roasters will be there to save the day and re-energize you at any point during the event. If those don’t do the trick for ya, the Main Street Armory and a cash bar will have additional food and drinks for purchase.

Just in case you do start to feel a bit too full to consume anything else, don’t give up! Your task is super important here! Just take a break, enjoy music from DJ Christian Martinez, do a lil’ jig, stop by the photo booth for insta-worthy photo ops, compete in a few games, and check out some samples and offerings from local vendors.
