Introducing Arctic: A Man Under the Ice. Now open at NISE Exhibition Center in Niagara Falls, this visually immersive experience allows visitors a once in a lifetime look under the frigid Canadian Arctic waters.

To do this, you’ll join world-renowned diver, filmmaker, and photographer Mario Cyr for a breathtaking look at a diverse range of aquatic life and the complex hidden ecosystem of the Canadian Arctic.

A Man Under the Ice: The Exhibit

Perfect for families, school groups, and explorers of all ages, this captivating and educational attraction takes guests on a one-of-a-kind adventure through the nearly inaccessible Canadian Arctic. It’s about 45 minutes in total, showing rare and never-before-seen photography and videography along the way. Pretty cool, right?

The attraction itself is massive— we’re talking 9,000 square feet! Inside, you’ll find incredible imagery displayed on nearly 30 high-def screens, two 250-square food projection walls, and one area with 360 degree projection to really immerse your senses.

As you walk through these projections, you’ll take in vividly beautiful images taken by Cyr during his 12,000 dives in the Canadian Arctic. From breathtaking landscapes and the spectacular northern lights, it’ll be like you’re actually on an expedition!

And to really set the scene, you’ll also have the opportunity to walk through life-sized tents modeled after Mario Cyr’s base camp. Here, Cyr’s team and invaluable Inuit guides meet up to strategize, review their work, and live out their days in one of the coldest places on Earth.

But enough with the logistics— let’s talk animals. More specifically, which ones you’ll have the opportunity to see up close and personal inside the exhibit. Because if you love animals, this is the place to be.

Mario Cyr’s work includes stunning photography of narwhals, starfish, polar bears, and other diverse aquatic animals in their natural habitat. From adorable furry friends you’ll want to hug and squeeze to creatures you’ve maybe never even heard of, you’ll experience it all!

During the immersive virtual dive section, join Cyr as he demonstrates the richness and wonder of what lies beneath the ocean’s icy surface. You’ll also experience the Floe Edge, which is the place where open water meets the shoreline and wildlife feeds, socializes, and thrives.
