Buffalo Bucket List: Take a Scenic Fall Hike
Trekking on foot is the best way to see some awesome fall foliage this year! There’s no shortage of beautiful parks just a stone’s throw from Buffalo, so grab your Pumpkin Spice Latte and get moving! We have a fair amount of smaller parks like Como Park in Lancaster, Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park, or Glen Park in Williamsville, but if you’re really looking for that wow factor, then it’s worth the drive to Letchworth or Watkins Glen!
1. Letchworth State Park

The family-friendly campgrounds are a perfect getaway for your kin. Enjoy the charcoal grills while your kids race around the loop on their bikes. Cool down on a hot day in the Olympic-sized swimming pool. Adventure Calls Outfitters offers White Water Rafting for those who are seeking an adrenaline filled experience on the Genesee River. This Park is dog-friendly as well, so your four-legged friend will be a part of the adventure.

2. Watkins Glen State Park

Watkins Glen, another highly rated park about 2 ½ hours from the city of Buffalo, is nestled within the Finger Lakes region. The hike is challenging if you start from the bottom and work your way uphill, or more relaxing if you park at the top and work your way down. Gravity
The crisp, fall weather makes this hike truly enjoyable!  You can make the trip in a day, but why not consider turning the trip into a weekend getaway?  You can explore some of their cute boutique shops, exemplary breweries, inviting restaurants, and fine wineries while you’re there!
