Introducing our newest mini series… “SOB’s Fast 5 Stories”. What started as a podcast series within Step Out Buffalo’s podcast feed where Lauren and Emily run through 5 fun “news” stories that we think you should know ASAP is now a written series too. Best part is, these topics are discussed in a super short format to get you in the know and on your way as quickly as possible.

Where do we get our info? Simple. The street, Instagram, office gossip, keeping our eyes peeled around town. We have our ways. Regardless, we got you covered. Whether you read it or listen to it, WDC (we don’t care), just get it in, fam.

This Week’s Fast 5 Stories:

1. West Rose x The Grange

Guess what? There’s a new restaurant opening this fall in Ellicottville and it’s a sister restaurant to one of the best – The Grange! Based on what we’ve pulled from Instagram, here’s what we know: The restaurant is going to have an open concept, it’s being designed by West End Interiors, there are lots of windows, tons of natural lighting, v Grange-y vibes, possibly a little more color in the design? Plus there’ll be a private event space involved and a terrace with views overlooking HoliMont at this new two story restaurant. See you there!?

2. Perry’s featured In A Quiet Place

Shoutout to our very first intern Jenna Perry for the latest Quiet Place scoop. Perry’s Ice Cream is featured in the film, “A Quiet Place!” But wait, the best part is, they had no idea they would be making their debut in the film. Jenna was also able to meet the power couple of John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. Don’t worry, there’s pictures to prove it. Filming for the movie started last week and features all of Main Street in Akron!

Photo x Wildroot Floral

3. Wildroot Floral joining Daddy’s Plants

Or should we say Daddy’s Plants is joining Wildroot Floral? With a focus on custom, cute floral arrangements, events and every day floral delivery, Wildroot Floral is joining Daddy’s Plants (they specialize in house plants ) at the new retail space on Niagara Street. This spot has actually been Wildroot Floral’s studio and they’r making the switch together to retail.

4. Jazzboline is Open

We know what you’re thinking: WTF is a jazzboline? Well, it’s an instrument with an angular body that was played like a banjo created by Frank Reikart. His inventive spirit will live on at Jazzboline Restaurant and Bar, located at 5010 Main Street next to the Reikart House. They’re serving up lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, plus there will be cocktails and local craft brews on tap! Stay tuned for our full post about their opening.

5. Patrick’s Rooftop Opening

Hallelujah! Buffalo has another rooftop patio! Patrick’s Rooftop is officially open on top of 500 Pearl, a mixed use building across the street from Buffalo Proper with a hotel, bar, event space, offices, apartments, etc. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good rooftop view? Expect to see some fancy cocktails, snacks, apps and bougie vibes at the highest rooftop bar in Buffalo. Woot woot!

We launched a new look!

Our new design features a better browsing experience, modern mobile navigation, more visual displays of key info, better filtering options on the search page, and much more.

We hope you love our new look! That said, we’re #ForeverTweaking and would greatly appreciate your feedback so we can make StepOutBuffalo.com *all* you want and need as your go-to resource for the best of Western New York!
