Figure Drawing at the Center for the Arts
DATE: Every Wednesday from now until May 4th (closed March 18th over Spring Break)

Open to UB students and the public alike, the UB Department of Arts and Sciences offers a space for creative minds to spill onto canvas. All you need to bring is your own sketchbook, drawing materials, $5 (and maybe a friend!). Easels will be provided. Whether you’re an experienced artist or you’re just trying your hand out for the first time — all are welcome to join this open studio!
UB Jazz Series Presents Rudresh Mahanthappa’s Bird Calls

Talented composer and saxophonist, Rudresh Mahanthappa, comes to UB this spring on his Bird Calls tour. Along with the several other awesome speakers you’ll find on this list, Emmy Award-winner and Grammy Award-nominee David Cross will be on stage at UB this Spring. The inventive performer, writer, and producer on stage and screens both big and small will be stopping into town as part of his first national stand-up tour since 2019. Cross has been named one of the Top 100 Stand-Up Comedians of All Time by Comedy Central and one of the 25 best standup comedy specials and concert films of all time by Rolling Stone magazine in July 2015. Buffalo Film Seminars Presents Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull

Celebrated professors Diane Christian and Bruce Jackson will screen the two-time Oscar winning film, Raging Bull (1980), at the Dipson Amherst Theatre with an engaging critical discussion to follow. The Buffalo Film Series runs both fall and spring semesters, every Tuesday at 7 p.m. with a different film and discussion every week. Following Professor Ogletree comes yet another astonishing scholar — Siddhartha Mukherjee. Mukherjee, a doctor, won the Pulitzer Prize for his book, The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer. Additionally, Mukherjee teaches at Columbia University in addition to working as a visiting professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine — if that’s not enough, Mukherjee also works as a physician at the Columbia University Medical Center.
