The holiday season is coming and this Historic Village is hosting all sorts of festive events. Here’s what’s coming up at Genesee Country Village & Museum this holiday season.

Holiday Market

Saturday, November 14 & Sunday, November 15 from 10 am to 4 pm
When you visit this holiday market, you’ll find all sorts of specialty, handcrafted goods made by local makers and artists. There will be 30+ art, food, and gift vendors from all over Western New York, plus food trucks for grabbing a bite to eat. The Museum’s Flint Hill Store is another great option for local and Museum-made artisan goods, books, toys, and more. Tickets are available at the door. 
Tickets: Ages 3 and up: $5; Ages 2 and under: free

Preparing for Winter

Saturday, November 21 from 10 am to 3 pm
The villagers are busy preparing for the winter. Come stroll the historic village and share in the experience of candle making, spinning wool, meat preservation, and other traditional crafts and harvest tasks. In the Nature Center, the focus will be on birds and how they prepare for winter, and will include games, crafts, and bird house-making demonstrations to enthrall all ages. The Museum will also welcome special guest storyteller Tonia Galban, from the Mohawk Nation Bear Clan, to share some cozy Native American stories about the woodland animals and the fall nighttime skies.  Tickets are available at the door for this late-autumn event for the whole family

Yuletide Pancake Breakfast

Weekends: December 5 & 6, 12 & 13, 19 & 20
Bring the family and enjoy a hearty festive pancake breakfast highlighted by a socially-distant visit with jolly old St. Nick. Each child in attendance will take home a small gift and will have the opportunity to write a letter and post it in the Museum’s special North Pole mailbox. There are three seating times available each day and you’ll need to get your tickets ahead of time. 
Tickets: Adults $10, Ages 2-12: $8; Age 1 and under: free

Yuletide Open House

Weekends: December 5 & 6, 12 & 13, 19 & 20
Hours: Saturdays 12 to 6 pm; Sundays 12 to 4 pm 
Transcend time by visiting historic homes decked out in holiday finery where villagers will be sharing stories and a variety of historic holiday traditions. The holiday spirit will surround you while festive music plays, warm fires blaze and kitchens bustle as costumed interpreters prepare their holiday feasts. As the sun sets, see the village transform as lanterns light the lanes and homes. This event is all about experiencing the magic of the holiday season in the festive Historic Village.
Tickets: range from $15 to $18 and must be purchased in advance online.
