Imagine the serenity of two glacial lakes surrounded by beautiful upland forest. Green Lakes State Park is truly something to behold. Located about two and a half hours from Buffalo, this trip presents the perfect weekend getaway opportunity without traveling too far from home.

With more than 150 places to stay- including 7 cabins, 142 campsites, and 5 pavilions. Green Lakes is both beautiful and welcoming. Campsites are affordably priced ranging from $18-32 per night and are available to rent from May 21st to October 10th each year.

Nearby Round Lake are the Rolling Hills campgrounds which are the most affordable option. Expect a tranquil camping experience here with access to a shower, but no electricity. At Pinewoods campgrounds you will find several campsites equipped with electricity which are remotely close to Green Lake. Cabins are the most luxurious option ($108 per night) as they reside the closest to Green Lake. While sitting out on your screen porch enjoying your freshly cooked breakfast you prepare for a family day of fun on The Lake.

There’s plenty to do here – highlighted by the strikingly scenic golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones early in his career that has been described as a ‘masterpiece’. Furthermore, there are plenty of amenities available including: Boat rentals, cycling, fishing, disc golf, hiking, running, and walking. Rent a rowboat, canoe, or kayak from the boathouse to soak in the rays on the water.

This area was once covered by glaciers 10,000 years ago; carving out lakes, rivers, and canyons in the form of natural beauty for you to enjoy. We highly recommend exploring the countryside by taking a morning walk on the nature trails, then once you’ve worked up a sweat heading to Green Lake swimming area. There are designated places to picnic for lunch in the shade up close and personal with the green water.

Pro tip: This park is pet-friendly with campsites allowing 2 pets or fewer!
