If you’re seeking one last ‘splash’ of fun this summer in Buffalo, then fasten your seatbelts and hang on tight because things are happening on Grand Island!
On August 28th, Grand Island’s ‘Splash World’ opened its gates to the public at the former site of ‘Fantasy Island’. “Everybody’s excited to see the park come back to life, to see guests come through the front gate,” said VP of operations Gary Fawks. “It’s taking several months of hard work just to get to this point and I want everyone to know, this is just the beginning.”
This brand new mega water park is absolutely packed with amenities including: A lazy river, dragster drench, cannon bowl, surf hill, double dare falls, and more! Once you’ve had your fill of fun dry off and head over to the ‘Splash World Cafe’. Here, you will find chicken tenders, fries, pizza logs, mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, and cold beverages.
According to WIVB, the amusement park should be on track to open entirely by the Spring of ’22. Park officials say: “limited waterpark and food options will be available during the first phase of opening.” This years partial opening is certain to set the stage for next years Grand Opening, drawing in countless numbers of Western New Yorkers looking to cool off over a day of family fun.
Local Businesses who hope to prosper from the crowds are sharing in the excitement for Splash World’s grand opening. “We’re really excited about splash world opening up, especially helping all the grand island small businesses,” said David Perri who co-owns Pizza Amore. Furthermore, investors turn their eyes to Buffalo as a prime location for financial prosperity.
Splash World is open on weekends for the rest of September 2021 (Saturday & Sunday) weather permitting from 12pm – 7pm.
