The annual weeklong Buffalo Pride Week is back and with it comes an abundance of ways to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture and identity with the Buffalo community.
The 2022 Buffalo Pride Week theme is ‘Homecoming,’ to recognize the return of the Pride Parade and Pride Festival as in-person events, after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Buffalo Pride Week kicks off May 31 and runs through June 5, with family-friendly events, fitness-related events, art events, club parties and so much more, at various locations and venues throughout Western New York. A list of events can be found at buffaloprideweek.com/events/. This whole week of fun leads up to the big finale – The annual Pride Parade and Festival!
If you are looking to gather with your friends and family, to celebrate at the Pride Festival and Parade, here’s what you need to know:
Pride Parade
Bring your friends, family and chosen family to watch the floats march down Elmwood Avenue in celebration of our history and all who make up our vibrant LGBTQ+ community here in Western New York.
When: Sunday, June 5, 2022, 11:00 a.m.
Route: The Parade will take place along its normal route, beginning at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Forest Avenue and ending near Allen Street.
Spectators: FREE to the public!
Security: Buffalo Pride Week organizers work closely with the Buffalo Police Department, private security and other local and federal agencies to ensure the safety of the Pride Parade and Festival.

Pride Festival
Immediately following the Pride Parade, attend this vibrant celebration of Western New York’s LGBTQ+ community, featuring entertainment, family-friendly activities, food and beverages, live performances as well as nonprofit and retail vendors.
When: Sunday, June 5, 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location: Canalside, 44 Prime Street, Buffalo, NY 14202
Tickets: Tickets are available for purchased at buffaloprideweek.com
- General admission: $10 in advance and $20 at the gate on the day of the event (people ages 15 & under are free)
- Quest Diagnostics Premium Lounge (reserved for those 21 years of age and older): $40 in advance and $55 at the gate on the day of the event
- Features free-and-for purchase-drinks, premium stage views, a break from the crowds and opportunities to mingle with Festival talent, to be announced.
Entertainment: Rebecca Black will be headlining the Pride Festival on June 5. You may have seen her at Coachella, or partied to the remix of her viral hit “Friday”, but now is the time to see a live performance from the artist that PAPER Magazine declared, “is having a major moment, right now”! Kornbread Jeté,’ drag performer and popular contestant on season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2022, has also been named as one of the national acts, in a series of upcoming Pride Festival entertainment announcements.

Security:
As a reminder to all Pride Festival attendees, ALL BAGS (no bags larger than 12” x 12” are permitted) and persons at the Pride Festival are subject to security inspection. The following items must be placed on the security inspection tables:
- All metal
- Bags (diaper bags and small purses permitted – no bags larger than 12” x 12” permitted; please reframe from bringing a bag, if at all possible)
- Cell phones
- Keys
- Electronic devices
- Blankets
Prohibited items at Pride Festival:
- Any item deemed inappropriate or dangerous by security
- Weapons of any kind
- Backpacks or large tote bags (diaper bags and small purses are permitted – no larger than 12” x 12”)
- Chairs
- Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
- Firework
- Glass containers
- Outside food and beverage, including coolers
- All professional video and photo cameras
- Recording devices
- Selfie sticks, Tripods or Monopods
- Umbrellas
- Laser pointers
- Air horns
- Animals (task trained service animals are welcome)
- Bicycles (within the secure perimeter)
