It’s been 7 months since anyone in Buffalo and Western New York has seen a film in a movie theater. After the major hiatus, theaters have finally been given the green light to open on October, 23, 2020 at a very limited capacity with strict guidelines in place, but they’re back baby.Â
We can smell the popcorn popping as we speak.
While some theaters will open immediately, some are working out the “new normal” kinks and will provide reopening information as soon as possible. Keep scrolling for movie theater reopening updates across Buffalo and Western New York.

Reminder – we highly encourage you to support local theaters any way you can, including buying as much buttery popcorn and boxed candy as you can possibly fit into your body and then some.
