North of Buffalo you’ll find plenty of ways to be frightened this fall. The area is crawling with haunted tours all season, from ghost walks in old towns to paranormal activity in your backyard. Get ready for bone-shaking and spine-chilling my friends.

 

Williamsville – Ghost Walks 2015

Mason Winfield is famous in the area for his books on the supernatural and paranormal in New York and his series of Haunted History Ghost Walks.  Book your spot today for the historical tour through Williamsville that begins at the Old Red Mill off of Main Street.  Thursday, October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th at 7pm, tour groups gather at the Old Mill to embark on their journey through the village. The mill may be home to delectable Sweet Jenny’s chocolates and delicious ice cream flavors (like yummy pumpkin) now, but before it was full of treats, it might’ve been full of tricks!  Find out at the tour what buildings are haunted throughout the village. Lewiston – Ghost Walks 2015

All Fridays from September 11 through October 30 at 7pm head down to one of the oldest towns in WNY for an interactive tour that covers the paranormal, ghosts, conspiracies and much more!

You will meet your tour guide at Lake Effect Artisan Ice Cream Café (yum!) and head out from there.  Tickets are $10 per person and reservations aren’t required.  Parking is free in Discovery Center parking lot.  When the year of walks has come to an end, a section of their profit will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House on West Ferry in Buffalo, the Wyndham Family Home for Children in Lockport, and the Hamburg Disabled Veterans.

Haunted Tours at Old Fort Niagara!

On Saturday, October 17th and Saturday, October 24th from 7pm-10pm investigate the dark corridors of Old Fort Niagara and experience the history behind each building.  To say the fort has a past is the understatement of the year.  Through the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to hear about the headless ghost creeping around the 1726 French Castle, mysterious shadows, creaking doors, and much more in the dark. Enjoy a bonfire while listening to true ghost stories about the supernatural ghost sightings on the grounds.  Fort volunteers will conclude the night by suggesting a tour of the post’s graveyard from 1755, if you’d like to see it.  To purchase tickets for the Haunted Fortress call (716) 745-7611 between 9:00am- 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday.  Tickets must be purchased prior to the event for $20.00 per person and reservations are required. The Haunted Fortress is a fund raising event that will benefit Old Fort Niagara’s educational programming.

Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village Séance Series

The Séance Series begins their array of eerie events with activities during four nights in October: Friday October 16th 7:00pm – 8:30pm, Saturday October 17th 3:00pm-4:30pm, Friday October 23rd 10:00pm-11:30pm, and Saturday October 24th 10:00pm-12:00am.  Learn about the religion of Spiritualism and how it connects to the Western New York area. Depart into an entirely different world with a medium on the grand stage on the center green of the 19th century village as each evening will include a guest medium and you will have an opportunity to be included in a 19th century-style séance.  Make your reservation today because space is limited. Tickets are $30 per person and this event is for ages 18 and up.
