Williamsville Ghost Walks

Thursdays in October

Meeting Place: The Old Mill – Spring Street (off Main St.), Williamsville

Reservations Necessary  /  $15 Adults, $10 Ages 7-11, Under 7 FREE  /  TICKETS

The mill may be home to delectable Sweet Jenny’s desserts now, but this tour will focus on tricks over treats. Plus, find out which buildings throughout the Village of Williamsville are haunted. Expect stories of historic legends, religious miracles, Native American power trails, and local legends of “the Christmas Children”.

Lewiston Ghost Walks

Fridays in October

Meeting Place: Barton Hill Hotel & Spa – 100 Center Street, Lewiston

Depending on the weekend, experience a live tour in the Village of Lewiston with HHGW founder Mason Winfiled (10/7, 10/28) or consultant Gerald Halligan (10/14, 10/21) to discover Lewiston’s past and what ghosts are lurking around the Peace Garden. This tour has taken place for over a decade and tells the tales of prehistoric mystery, Underground Railroad hauntings, legendary authors, and the like. New this year, join Gerry and Mason for Happy Hour before the tour and get 10% off refreshments at the bar as a tour attendee!

Lockport Paranormal Walks

Saturdays in October

Meeting Place: Lake Effect Artisan Ice Cream – 79 Canal Street, Lockport

It’s been said that Lockport as one of WNY’s oldest towns has a truly bizarre past. But don’t take anyone’s word for it. Go see for yourself on the next Paranormal Walk where you’ll meet at Lake Effect Ice Cream for an interactive tours covering the paranormal, ghosts, conspiracies, and more. Pro Tip: there’s free parking in the Discovery Center lot.

SOB Food/Drink Recommendation:  Lake Effect Ice Cream – you MUST go inside. They have killer sundaes and ice cream sammies.

 

Haunted Fortress Tours at Fort Niagara

October 15th and 22nd

Meeting Place: Old Fort Niagara, Youngstown, NY 14174

Reservations Necessary  /  $22 per person, Under 7 FREE  / Tickets available in advance by calling (716) 745-7611 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

Location, location, location. If that’s your motto, this one’s for you. Tour the darkened spaces of the fort and meet spooky people from its violent past. Old Fort Niagara’s centuries-old buildings offer more than a few ghost stories, from the headless ghost that reputedly haunts the 1726 French Castle to unexplained shadows, slamming doors and eerie orbs. Get the opportunity to experience the Fort’s dark and mysterious past during the Haunted Fortress, set for October 15 and 22. This tour is not recommended for children under 8 years of age.

Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village Séance Series

Fridays* in September and October

Meeting Place: Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, Amherst

Join the fun at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village for a night of frights as they celebrate Halloween with a Victorian Séance Series. These programs are being designed especially for BNHV by Buffalo History Tours and will focus on Spiritualism, Victorian mourning culture, and how death impacted the Western New York community in the 19th century. Each evening will begin with a talk and finish with a Victorian-style séance. This year they will offer two different séance styles after the lecture: the Trumpet Horn program and the Crystal Ball program.
