Here’s what’s coming up in February at Hofbrauhaus Buffalo:
Wednesday, February 2 at 7 p.m.
Doppel means double in German. Therefore, a Doppelbock is double the fun and bigger and stronger than the average Bock. This traditional German lager was originally brewed by monks during Lent and times of fasting. Since they weren’t allowed to eat solid foods during the day they created a big, sweet bier to carry them through the day until the evening.
This bier style is an especially wonderful choice on a cold Buffalo winter day.
If you visit Hofbrauhaus Buffalo on February 2, you’ll be among the first to sample their Doppelbock. You can expect a big, bold, and assertive bier with notes of the dark fruits of plum and raisin, a soft hop presence, and a lingering toasted bread finish. This bier will also have a soft alcohol warmth and low carbonation. Reservations are recommended.
