Stony Brook Legendary Lights, formally known as Stony Brook Shines for Others, is officially back for a 15th year of lighting up Lancaster for a good cause. If you’ve never been to this community-centric light display, trust us when we say it is a must-visit for all ages.
Stony Brook Legendary Lights is made up of a committee of neighborhood residents who come together to light up the 300+ homes in the Stony Brook/Quail Run development, spread out across nine streets. From 6pm-11pm, Thanksgiving -January 1st, the neighborhood shines with impressive holiday light decorations.

Gaining popularity over the years, locals have been welcomed to visit the neighborhood to view the lights. Pro tip: It does get pretty busy so while driving through the neighborhood is acceptable, we recommend parking and walking around instead. Grab a hot cocoa and its a full experience!
While the lights in and of themselves are quite the attraction, the best part of the light display isn’t in the lights itself but rather what this neighborhood has been able to accomplish over the years through their light displays. As you make your way around the neighborhood you’ll see donation drop boxes where you have the option to donate, if you wish to, to a local child-centric charity. Over the last 14 years, more than $310,000 has been collected and donated to different child charities in the region.

This year, through a neighborhood-wide vote, the Stony Brook community has chosen the Evan Wood Fund to be the recipient of the 2022 donation. All of the money that is raised for the Evan Wood Fund will go towards the comfort and care of local chronically ill children and their families.
Donations are accepted in the form of cash or check made out to “The Evan Wood Fund.” Donations can be placed in one of the neighborhood drop boxes when you visit or sent by mail to:
