Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House is getting in the holiday spirit, and you and your family are invited to join in on the festivities!

From holiday workshops to behind-the-scenes tours to a holiday market, there’s lots of fun ways you can enjoy the Martin House this holiday season.

1. Expanded Tours

The Martin House is expanding its tour offerings for the week between Christmas and New Year’s to offer more opportunities for you to visit. If you have family and friends visiting from out of town, find a time to explore this National Historic Landmark together.

2. Candlelight Behind-the-Scenes Tours

Explore the Martin House by candlelight during a 75-minute, docent-led tour. This special tour will be held only for the first three Thursdays in December, including the 1st, 8th, and 15th.

This behind-the-scenes experience will take you through spaces not available on other tour offerings in the early evening, with lights dimmed to set the mood. You’ll want to get tickets in advance before they sell out.

3. The Tree of Light + Holiday Market

The Martin House will be lighting the holiday tree for the very first time on Saturday, December 3!

To celebrate, they are hosting a free community event from 4 to 6 p.m. The Tree of Light event will also include crafts, treats, and festive tunes from Buffalo Girlchoir.

New for 2022: Shop the Holiday Market featuring local artisans and unique gifts for all ages from 3 to 6 p.m. inside the visitor center. Admission and street parking are free.

The Martin House will be open for walk-throughs during Tree of Light, and the Museum Store will be open for shopping.

4. Holiday Workshop: Create a Centerpiece

This hands-on workshop, led by Wildroot Floral, will teach you how to create a beautiful centerpiece for your table! You’ll learn simple techniques while building a holiday arrangement and tips and tricks on the basics of floral design.

Your centerpiece will include holiday greens, berries, and some fresh flowers. You can sign up online for this workshop happening on December 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

5. Holiday Workshop: Mixology

During this hands-on workshop, Hartman’s Distilling Co. will teach you how to elevate your cocktail game, just in time for the holidays!

You’ll create three delicious, holiday-inspired cocktails while learning the building blocks of a good drink and design tips for the very best cocktail presentation at home.

All participants get to sample the drinks and receive recipe cards to bring home with them. This is a 21+ event. You can sign up online for this workshop happening on December 15. Limited tickets remain for the 7pm session.

6. Shop Local in the Museum Store

If you’re looking for unique gifts for your family and friends, you’ll find them here.
