With the holidays approaching, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House is decking the halls and wants you to join in on the festivities. 

This season, you and your family are invited to explore the famous landmark through a variety of tours and events. The Martin House has expanded hours for Thanksgiving Weekend or go behind-the-scenes with a special Candlelight Tour in December. For a more hands-on experience, the Martin House will also be hosting holiday workshops.

Thanksgiving Weekend Tours

For Thanksgiving weekend, the Martin House has expanded hours so you can create special memories with your loved ones by touring this WNY treasure. 

Wednesday, November 24: In addition to the docent-led tours offered during the day, the Martin House will stay open later for self-guided tours from 4-7pm.

Thursday, November 25: The site is closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Friday, November 26 – Sunday, November 28: They have expanded the number of tours available for the busy weekend. What better way to walk off that turkey & stuffing?

After your tour, stop by the on-site Museum Store, open for tour participants and the general public. Find unique and exclusive items for holiday gifts, or treat yourself! 

Note: Tours are still reduced capacity and face coverings are required.

Tree of Light

On December 5th from 4-6pm, the Martin House is hosting a night of family friendly entertainment. The outdoor event will feature crafts, holiday treats, and the lighting of the Martin House tree. Buffalo Girlchoir and musicians from Buffalo String Works will provide festive holiday tunes and the Albright-Knox Art Truck will provide fun activities. The Martin House will be open for walk-throughs, and the Museum Store will be open for holiday shopping. The event is FREE and does not require registration.

Candlelight Behind-the-Scenes Tours

Explore the Martin House with the lights dimmed and candles lit during this 75-minute, docent-led tour. This special tour will be held only for the first three Thursdays in December (2nd, 9th, and 16th). Under the glow of candlelight, the experience will take you through spaces not available on other tour offerings so be sure to secure your tickets in advance!

Holiday Workshops 

For the first three Thursdays in December, the Martin House will be hosting holiday-themed workshops to get you in the holiday spirit. Better yet, make it a full night of fun and book a candlelight tour with your workshop!
