It’s a sad day in Buffalo when a local, hardworking family restaurant closes its doors for the last time. Back in 1982, Acropolis OPA established itself along the Elmwood strip where it remained until 2021, eventually shutting down as a result of the pandemic.
While they say “all good things must come to an end,” it seems this end will have to wait for this this authentic Greek restaurant.
Just in time for summer, owner Paul Tsouflidis, is reopening Acropolis OPA at a new location in the Village of Williamsville with some exciting changes in store!
Acropolis OPA is taking over the location of Newbury Salads which also happens to be owned by Tsouflidis. The new restaurant will essentially become a fusion of the two concepts offering everything Newbury Salads had plus everything locals have come to love from Acropolis OPA over the years.

With some of their past team members joining the new location, the restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner with a full bar and patio. Plus, the Greek staple, Saganaki — a flambéed cheese appetizer will be returning to the menu. Acropolis OPA will be using a Greek premium cheese called Kafolagraviera, and will be flaming at the table once again.
“It’s been two years since we shut our doors in Buffalo due to Covid and we miss you. We hope to see all of your beautiful faces once again. OPA!”
