If you’re thinking about trying scuba diving for the first time, becoming a certified diver, or getting your certification to become a diving professional, the people at Professional Scuba can help you.

And yes, we are well aware we are talking about scuba diving in the middle of winter. And yes, there is a good reason why. If you start training now, you can be ready to dive into the open water by summertime or during your next tropical vacation.

PADI 5-Star Dive Center

Professional Scuba is the only PADI dive center in Buffalo. PADI aka Professional Association of Diving Instructors is the world’s leading scuba diver training organization. All of the instructors here are PADI certified. FYI – having a PADI certification is one of the most respected and sought after scuba diving credentials in the world.

The instructors here teach all levels of diver from beginners with zero diving experience to advanced divers interested in speciality courses. If you’re brand new to scuba diving, completing the open water diver course is step one. This course involves three phases.

  1. Knowledge Development- This can be completed online, independently, or in a classroom. This will teach you the basic principles of scuba diving.
  2. Confined Water Dives – This phase includes pool sessions where you’ll learn the basic scuba skills before jumping in the open water. Sessions are available in the southtowns, northtowns, or right in the city of Buffalo.
  3. Open Water Dives – Finally, you’ll have a chance to demonstrate your skills in the open water.

You’ll also learn to use all the basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, and a tank.

Our advice? If scuba diving is on your vacation wish list, complete the first two phases right now. Here’s why. If you complete phase one and two locally, you can finish the final phase at any PADI center around the world.
