Did you know there are only a few natural wineries in NYS? That’s why we’re personally super excited to have this winery right here in our backyard. Aside from the killer-french winery vibes Liten Buffel is throwing, it’s officially putting WNY on the natural winemaking map. Thanks guys!

Liten Buffel opened its doors in Middleport in 2017 with a mission in mind. This local winery takes the all-natural approach to winemaking, making them a standout in the region.

Together owner Patrick Vaughn and winemaker Zack Klug are dedicated to offering drinkers a one-of-a-kind wine experience.

What is “natural wine” exactly? All-natural may mean something different to us than it does to you. In the wine world, “natural wine” is best described as “low-intervention” aka Liten Buffel doesn’t mess with natural grape chemistry.

Instead of using additives to shape the wine, natural winemakers allow the grapes to freely express themselves, with each bottle showcasing a specific place and time. Many winemakers appreciate this natural beauty, and they are far from alone. Natural wine sales have only been growing in the past five years, with zero signs of slowing down. In fact, as WNY’s newest winery, Liten Buffel is already being featured in numerous wine bars and shops across New York City.

Skipping the conventional process adds risk, but the results are worth it according to natural winemakers like Zack Klug. And that’s why Liten Buffel is earning major props from us!

If the name already sounds familiar, there’s a reason. You’ll find Liten Buffel wines at Ristorante Lombardo and The Dapper Goose, too. Yet, another reason these guys are the best. #SupportLocal #DrinkLocal

Liten Buffel promises a wine tasting experience to remember. The tasting room is gorgeous, complete with a modern sitting room to give you an inside peek at the winemaking process.

Get down to it, how far do I have to drive?

If you’re coming from the city of Buffalo, it’s only a 45-minute drive (right near Becker Farms). And let’s be honest, we’ve all done a lot more for a good glass of wine.

You can drive out there knowing the tasting room is open daily from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and by appointment.

Need yet another reason to visit? Liten Buffel is hosting their 2016 Release Party on April 28. And if the event name – Liten Buffel Wine Mixer Jam Night Spirit Quest–  is any indication, it’s gonna be good, y’all. They’ll have live music, a 6-course small bite food pairing for $10, and more.

Oh, and did we mention you can buy their wine online too? Check it out here. Text your wine-o friends, make plans, and obvi tell LB we sent you.
