2018 is here and I think everyone is ready for a fresh start after a trying and challenging 2017. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get out of the house and catch more live music (and let’s face it, it should be), then you have come to the right place. Here are the 10 shows that should be all over your radar for the month of January in Western New York.

 

 

1. Rock Autism Benefit

Handsome Jack, the Spin Wires and Max Muscato will join forces to rock out for a great cause at the Cobblestone hot spot.

 

2. Strictly Hip

DATE: January 5th

LOCATION: The Tralf Music Hall

The Hip tribute band will once again take up residency at the Theatre District music venue to tackle popular album from front to back or memorial concert set list from the much beloved Canadian band’s long history

 

3. Nylon Otters

A trio of Western New York garage acts will take over Asbury Hall’s cozy basement venue.

 

4. Choir! Choir! Choir!

DATE: January 10th

LOCATION: The 9th Ward

The Toronto duo known for teaching vocal arrangements mid-show and turning the audience into a choir will bring its communal show to Babeville.

 

 

5. Cooler

DATE: January 12th

The 90’s throwback emo trio will celebrate the release of its new EP “Buried” on the Buffalo rooted indie label Admirable Traits Records.

6. Aircraft & M.A.G.S.

DATE: January 12th

LOCATION: Lockhouse Distillery & Bar

The soaring space rockers and buzzing garage trio will team up to deliver a must-catch double set in the lively distillery

 

7. Soul Patch

DATE: January 27th

Featuring Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley on vocals, Buffalo’s premiere alternative rock tribute act will hit the Cobblestone stage to deliver a shot of 90’s nostalgia.

 

8. Snapcase

DATE: January 20th

LOCATION: Town Ballroom

The legendary Buffalo hardcore act will perform a one-off hometown show with metalcore group Counterparts and local emo act Pentimento.

 

 

9. Diet Cig

DATE: January 29th

LOCATION: Mohawk Place
