Local Kitchen & Beer Bar, a newly renovated bar and restaurant in the former Noir space on Chippewa will officially open on Friday, January 15. The space is covered in reclaimed wood that was recovered from an old barn in Clarence as well as handpicked vintage trinkets like Johnny Ryan crates and Iroquois Beer finds. As you enter the large space you’ll find a three-sided bar stretching from front to back, which makes every seat in the house feel like it’s part of the bar atmosphere.
While this will undoubtedly be a great new spot to stop for drinks with friends or post up during a football game for the afternoon, it also has potential to be a casual pub style restaurant thanks to its nice selection of beer -especially local brews- and bourbon to wash down your grub. The food menu consists of appetizers like Chicken and Pepper Jack Mini Taquitos, Buffalo’s Best Chicken Wing Dip, and Local Loaded Fries ($9-$10) along with healthier options dubbed Local Greens which features a Signature Salad, Berry Berry Salad, and a Veggie Salad (vegan) among others ($9-$15). More substantial dishes include Sandwiches and Burgers like the Ribeye Steak Sandwich, Cuban Torta, and Smoked Brisket Burger ($9-$14) along with a good amount of entrees like Sesame Crusted Tuna Steak, Honey BBQ Chicken, Vegan Pasta, and Casey’s Tavern Beer Battered Cod on Fridays ($12-$18). Local will also be serving chicken wings up in over ten different ways including one of them being “on the pit”, plus they’ll have different pizzas like Beef on Weck, Chicken Wing, and Margarita ($11-$15).
Upon opening, the bar has a whopping 40 beers on tap including some of the newest local breweries like 42 North and 12 Gates along with several bourbon choices. The bar and restaurant will be open for both lunch and dinner.
