In recent news, Mac’s on Hertel opened this week with a brand new bar, restaurant and highly anticipated second floor patio.
Open daily, Mac’s will be serving lunch and dinner as well as catering to the Hertel late-night scene in the newly renovated space that was once, not too long ago, known as the Empire Grill.
Mac’s will join several new business with many more to come in future months. The restaurant boom, along with local shops popping up all over the Hertel, makes for a fun destination whether you’re in need of a coffee, a drink, a shopping spree, want to see a movie or hear live music.
Simply put, Hertel is hoppin’.
The recent addition of the second floor outdoor balcony at Mac’s will provide a great view of the booming neighborhood to go with your meal. Think rotisserie chicken, wings, trash plates (late night eaters only) and Bisons French Onion Dip with salt & pepper potato chips. I believe their clever menu (reads like a newspaper) calls it “New American cuisine in a family friendly, high energy atmosphere.” Other types of menu items include appetizers, soups and salads, “between the bread” plates and a few desserts including a Root Beer Float made with Saranac draft root beer. Yes. Please.
Between two floors, Mac’s offers seating for over 240 guests. Inside, you’ll find enlarged historical photos wall papering the space, offering your average bar experience while facing one way, and a street fair with 1000 of your closest friends while facing the other.
If you’re wondering what’s to drink, rest assured you’ll find local craft beer on draft and a full bar.
