When it comes to photos of Buffalo floating around the interwebs we’ve seen tons of great shots lately. Some are amateur, some are professional, some are artsy, some are just in your face gorgeous.

Frankly it’s like Buffalo just can’t help it lately. But what really makes a difference in the end product is the connection the photographer has to the subject, the photo, the process even. Which is where local Wedding Photographer / Instagramer / Buffalographer Colin Gordon (@colin_patrick on Instagram) comes in.

“I love being able to capture emotion and tell a story with my photos,” 25-year-old Colin explains. “I feel genuinely fulfilled when I make people happy with something I created for them. My clients are always priority and weddings happen to be a phenomenal outlet for that!”

When it comes to capturing photos of Buffalo, Colin’s favorite part is being able to showcase and document the city he loves. “I was born and raised here and have a burning Buffalonian pride. I think our city has so much to offer and I want to make people aware of how truly beautiful the Queen City is.”

When we asked about his favorite places to capture Buffalove, Colin’s list was long and filled with storied pasts. “Some of my favorite places to shoot are the Old First Ward, Knox Farm, and the Elmwood Village. I love the history and the grittiness that the Old First Ward offers with all the abandoned grain elevators. There’s something so beautiful hidden amongst the decay – I find something new every time I go there. Knox Farm is great because you can bring your dog and the grounds are stunning. The Elmwood Village is where I live so I have a deep connection to the neighborhood.”

As I’m sure we can all agree, there’s nothing better than looking a local business up on Instagram and seeing what they’re up to at all hours. From personal projects to insider info, and just plain old fun being had, it’s nice to peek behind the curtain of the people you buy from or hire. Which is why we’re so into Colin’s Insta account. It’s true what they say, a picture’s worth a thousand words.
