Yes, it’s *finally* time! A trip to the Christmas tree farm is a long-time tradition for many families, mine included. If you’re a Buffalonian and finding the perfect tree is on your holiday to-do list, this is the guide you need in your life.

Luckily, you don’t have to travel far to find your perfect pine. All the places on our list are less than a 25-mile drive from the city, and offer the option for you to cut down your own. After all, that’s the best way to get the whole fam into the holiday spirit.

1. Jurek Trees (Clarence)

6600 Strickler Road, Clarence / jurekplantations.com

Cut down your own tree at Jurek Trees, a family-owned and operated business that has been proudly serving our Buffalo area community for three generations. They offer cut-your-own and pre-cut trees and can take care of tree drilling and wrapping for you to make getting your perfect tree as enjoyable as possible. Check out their other two locations too!

This location is the complete DIY tree experience. But really, no pre-cut trees allowed. Aka dress accordingly, and bring your boots. This location also requires you to be prepared with plenty of rope (they recommend bringing a pick up truck!) and your own saw. Please note, they are only able to bale our smaller and more slender trees at this location. Check out Jurek Trees’ other two locations for more options too!

3. Kathie & Jerry’s Christmas Trees

1731 Gowans Road, Angola, NY / kathieandjerryschristmastrees.com

Instead of selling tons of trees, this Angola farm stops when the current year’s good trees are gone and save them for next year aka they might sell out by mid-December, so hurry.

They have a wide variety of tree species with a few available in limited quantities in addition to hand saws for your use, free baling and loading, tree stands and they’re pet friendly! No chainsaws please!

4. Blasz Tree Farm

This family owned tree farm is a favorite by many because of its varied selection in both size and species. In addition to trees, they have Christmas memorials for departed loved ones’ graves.
