You may have heard earlier this Spring that Chrusciki Bakery left their long standing spot at The Broadway Market due to decreased traffic over the years.
Their new, sprawling digs at the Eastern Hills Mall opened early August 2020 offering a three-pronged approach to Polish food, drink, and baked goods in three connected spaces.

In their own words, Simply Pierogi – Polish Kitchen is a “fast-casual restaurant concept serving traditional Polish cuisine in a modern-day format. The process for ordering simply entails walking through the front line as your food is prepared in front of you. ” While creating your own Pierogi Bowl, you get to choose a type of pierogi, add a Polish protein, and add toppings like caramelized onions, bacon bits, and more. It’s kinda like a pierogi dream come true TBH.

While Simply Pierogi provides a “Chipotle-esque” Polish food option, “Sto Lat Bar is a full-service bar with a small plates menu for lunch and a full-service dinner menu that is offered after 5 pm in the evenings,” the company explained via Facebook. Beer, wine, cocktails, and even reservations are available at this portion of the European Lounge.
The Sto Lat Bar offers small plates like Placek Monte Cristo Sliders, Truffle Fried Pickles, Classic Zapiekanka – Polish “flat bread” with garlic butter, topped with cheese, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and a drizzle of sweet ketchup, and of course Fried Pierogi Dippers among others. Entrees include a Polish Platter, Spicy Schnitzel Sandwich, Kotlety Burger – a house-made patty blend of veal and pork topped with Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and pickled beets. Woof.

What’s the one thing that could make this whole set up better? A patio. Don’t worry – they have one.
The new restaurant, bar and bakery ask for your cooperation in maintaining proper social distance and safety measures when in the building as they open among a pandemic, making the absolute most of a rough situation. Masks must be worn at all times when walking around the restaurant, and may be taken off once you are seated at your table.
