With indoor dining at bars and restaurants shuttered across Western New York, locally-owned Coco Bar & Bistro on Main Street in Downtown Buffalo has pivoted by opening an outdoor Crepe Chalet.
The food stand is what outdoor dining dreams are made of, especially during a Buffalo winter. Channeling major French/Canadian vibes, the chalet offers a menu of Paris street crepes – both sweet and savory, baguettes, desserts, and specialty drinks along with outdoor heaters, bistro tables, blankets, and strung Christmas lights.
On the long sweet and savory crepe menu you’ll find options like Crepe Monsieur (ham, gruyere, bechamel), Crepé Diem (proscutto, fig preserves, gogonzola, arugula), Turkish Lahmacun (spiced ground lamb, lemon, feta, parsley), Chocolate Kiss (velvety chocolate sauce), Raspberry Beret (lemon curd, raspberry whipped cream cheese, fresh raspberries), and Failth & Begorah (Bailey’s Cream and chocolate) among others.
The Chalet is located right outside Coco and also offers Coco Bar & Bistro’s takeout menu (available for pickup or delivery) including Swedish meatballs, butternut bites, rosemary frites, a lamb burger, French onion burger, jamon buerre sandwich, and a handful of pizzas.
At the time of publishing this article, the crepe machine is currently “under the weather” and being replaced by a more reliable version according to Coco. Luckily, the Chalet plans to have the new machine up and running with the full crepe menu offered by Friday, December 11. In the meantime, visit for specialty drinks, the aforementioned Coco at the Crepe Chalet menu and vibes for dayz!
