Over the past few years, Canalside has become the epicenter of the revitalization taking place in the city of Buffalo. We are thrilled to announce there has been another unique addition to the waterfront! Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation (ECHDC) and Buffalo Waterfront Management Group announced today that the canals at Canalside have been converted into a giant roller rink that is now open and will roll through the Fall season until October 31st.

At more than 30,000 square feet in size, this Roller Rink is the largest outdoor roller-skating rink across New York State! This new addition adds diversity to the booming waterfront scene and exciting, new family fun to Buffalo’s Waterfront at a low-cost. Admission is $6 per adult and $2 for children ages 13 and under. Additionally, Roller skate rentals will be $4.

ECHDC Chairman Robert Gioia says: “For those around in the 70s at the height of the roller disco era, you know how much fun a pair of wheels and good tunes can be… we are thrilled to bring this new attraction to the community on Buffalo’s waterfront.”

It’s safe to say that the Roller Rink at Canalside will be the place to be this Fall. Whether you’re a beginner, an expert, a thrill seeker, or just looking to stay active outside, this is the place for you! In essence, this is a fun atmosphere which focus is to create a free, outdoor, healthy, and active lifestyle environment to benefit the Western New York community. You don’t want to wait any longer; check out the hype for yourself at Canalside!
