Maybe it’s because we live so far from the ocean, but sushi has never been a cheap meal in Buffalo. There are, however, ways to get affordably-priced sushi and one of them going is the all-you-can-eat route at the new Sushi Queen in Tonawanda.
Located in a strip mall on Delaware Avenue, Sushi Queen is all about convenience and value, especially when it comes to raw fish. We definitely recommend the all-you-can-eat option. The weekday lunch price (from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) is just $15.99 while the dinner and weekend price is $24.99. The offer covers everything on the menu, not just sushi.

There are a few things to be aware of before you go. First, is that we found the sushi portions to be pretty small. This isn’t a problem if you’re doing all-you-can-eat, but if you order takeout, you might be underwhelmed by the portion sizes. Also, Sushi Queen will charge you, by weight, for any extra sushi left on your plate. As you can imagine, this can become a big issue if you come with a large group and people in your party order way too much food. On the other hand, this policy helps to cut down on food waste, which we appreciate.

The rest of the menu at Sushi Queen is rounded out with Japanese-American restaurant classics. If you aren’t feeling sushi, you could order main dishes like fried rice, yakisoba noodles and hibachi-grilled meats. Appetizers like crab rangoons, shrimp tempura and beef gyoza are as good as you’ll find at other restaurants. Sushi Queen also has a beverage menu that includes beer, wine, sake, tea and soft drinks.
There are certain occasions, like after a late night, where all-you-can-eat Japanese food will really hit the spot. For times like these, we can definitely recommend Sushi Queen.
