Dads gonna dad, as the saying goes, and if your dad wants to dad hard, there is no better place to get your dad on than the new T Squared Tees and Taps.
From craft cocktails at the sports bar, to golf simulators, to a replica green from the iconic Masters tournament, Tees and Taps is pure G-rated dad porn.
Joking aside, golf isn’t just a dad sport. Tees and Taps knows this. The new entertainment and hospitality business may be firmly rooted in the slow-moving sport, but Tees and Taps is meant to appeal to all demographics. The lounge area welcomes golfers and non-golfers alike.
“We have made it so everybody can feel comfortable when they walk in,” manager Christine Ziemer told us in a recent phone call. “We have a great open area for everybody, even those who just want to sit at the bar, have a drink and watch people play on the simulators.”
Available both in the lounge and in the adjacent golf simulators, the food menu includes a number of small, shareable plates, including deviled eggs, loaded crab fries and charcuterie. The bar’s homemade cocktails include takes on a peach fizz and a dark ‘n’ stormy. There’s also a range of familiar beers, from Michelob Ultra to Big Ditch Hayburner.
While the food, drink and golf simulation are more than enough reason to visit, maybe the most unique offering at Tees and Taps is the custom putter fitting. The parent company behind Tees and Taps is T Squared, a local putter manufacturer. Using repurposed dental manufacturing machinery and state-of-the-art golf software, the experts at T Squared can make a putter that is custom fitted to your putting technique and preferences. However, if you don’t want to go through the trouble (or cost) of getting a customized putter, the on-premises T Squared showroom has a number of models available for sale.
Once you’ve got your new or potentially new putter in hand, you can try it out, and compare it to your old putter, at one of T Squared’s two putting greens. You could go for the indoor putting green. You could. Or, you could opt for the massive outdoor putting green that was built to be a half-sized replica of the fabled No. 13 green at Augusta National Golf Club, which is home to The Masters Tournament.
As a shine to many things golf, T Squared also serves as a great meeting spot for watching major golf tournaments and talking shop with other local golfers. It’s also just a great spot for watching any sport, including football, hockey and even the Triple Crown horse races.
Only just opened this spring, Ziemer said she has already seen many different kinds of people walk through the doors of Tees and Taps for a wide range of reasons.
“We have younger people coming in to book the simulators and take a look at the putter, but we also have an older generation coming in to sit at the bar,” she said.
