Valle of Mexico officially has new digs in the old Arby’s on Camp Road in Hamburg.
For reasons we’re not clear on, the Mexican restaurant shut down their South Buffalo location mid-summer after they had started work on Valle of Mexico II.
On opening day at the new space a server confirmed that the original South Buffalo restaurant will remain closed. Thankfully, their authentic Mexican food will live on within the refurbished building that once sold fast food from a window. Don’t worry – they spiffed it up a bit.
The restaurant has an almost identical menu to the previous location with some additions, minus the liquor license which they are working on getting. The space has been equipped with a bar and plenty of booths, seating more people than the South Buffalo location and more comfortably. The decor remains Valle of Mexico-esque although it’s somewhat toned down from the spectrum of bright colors adorning the walls and ceiling at the old place.
During lunch on their first day open we experienced good service and even more delicious food. For more raving about the authentic cuisine served by Valle of Mexico check out our original post Authentic Valle of Mexico Springs Up in South Buffalo.
We were also told that Valle of Mexico II is actually a collaboration between original Valle of Mexico team who will run the kitchen and Don Tequila’s/Agave/La Divina who will head up the front of house. Of course, recent developments have left us wondering how all that will actually pan out.
Valle of Mexico II is open now six days a week for lunch and dinner.
