On Our Radar: Hyper Local Outlaw Pale Ale is a 189 Public House Exclusive

New on the WNY beer front Crook Malting & Brewing Company, owned by Clark Crook of (and operating within) 189 Public House in East Aurora. Currently they are producing small batches of Outlaw Pale Ale, available only at 189. The hops are grown exclusively at Honey Hill Hops in Holland NY. Clark says they plan to branch out into some different styles but for now will focus on the Pale Ale, and “a unique restaurant experience that features a great hyper local beer option.” According to brewer Alex Garvey they might have a wheat beer for summer.

The ale is relatively light for an American Pale Ale and an excellent compliment to some of their appetizers like Moules Frites (Mussels) in Curry Sauce w/ Fries, Deviled Eggs or a Basket of Bacon; and/or entrees like Fried Chicken Dinner with – Mashed Potatoes & Corn pudding or the Beef Stew (made daily).

If Pale Ale isn’t to your tasting don’t worry, 189 has plenty alternatives to wet your whistle. In addition to healthy wine and beer options, 189 considers itself a “whiskey emporium” showcasing the finest in that American tradition. We suggest you stop in for some tasting and catch a little live music.
