Update as of 3/22: Pastry by Camille has temporarily closed due to COVID-19.
Have you heard? Due to Covid-19, we’ve temporarily changed our motto to “Stay In, Buffalo”. And for the foreseeable future we will be posting content that shares how our community can continue to support local businesses while adhering to guidelines set by the CDC.
It’s a scary time out there, and I hope everyone is remaining positive. I’ve certainly received some push back for going out and supporting local businesses during this time as many people believe we shouldn’t be leaving our houses for anything, but it’s frightening to think that these businesses could lose everything for something that may be short-lived. The “ifs” are in abundance at this time but the community that we foster here in WNY is filled with so much love, giving, and gratitude, that I just know we’ll make it through.
So many local restaurants are offering their patrons to-go food (many are offering deals as well!) at this time so I wanted to go ahead and highlight one of my favorites because it’s brunch-centric AF and you know we can’t go too long without our sweet brunch, and nobody can do it quite like Pastry by Camille on Hertel. Honestly guys, as I’m typing this new information is surfacing. Who knows how much longer our local restaurants will even be open for take-out, so take advantage while you can.
I had the pleasure of getting showered with to-go food from Pastry by Camille yesterday and guys – this. is. how. you. do. it!!!
I got both the salmon salad and the pear salad, the veggie quiche, a nutella crepe, a brioche french toast, and croissants. If good food doesn’t make you forget about a potential doomsday right quick, friends, IDK what does.
I never thought I’d say this considering my beloved brioche french toast was also part of the equation, but eating fresh vegetables and greens was probably the highlight of this experience. As you may all know if you follow @buffalobrunch, I go to Squeeze Juicery constantly and I’m a huge fan of their salads, but quarantine diet certainly hasn’t allowed for fresh vegetables much, so what a treat it was! Both of the salads were so beautiful and savory with hints of sweetness.
Camille has perfectly crafted a “recession take-out menu” to round-up all of his menu items that travel well and you can access it here Recession Take Out Menu. I can confirm that they ALL travel well, y’all! I was a bit skeptical of the french toast, but it was just as pillowy with a nice crusty exterior and of course the jam and whipped cream are the absolute best addition to the equation.
Well guys, I can’t sit here and pretend that my group chats aren’t blowing up with talks of doomsday, but like I said in the beginning of this article, let’s try to remain positive and hear the facts, and pamper ourselves with a delicious meal like Pastry by Camille if we can.
