Pizza Journal:

Penora’s is not just a take out pizza joint. You can stay, sit, have some fish fry. I think I even saw a Maryland Crab Cake Sandwich on the menu – which intrigues me and would probably be a reason to place a return order if I lived closer. Still very early on my journey through WNY pizza, I was ready to eat. Dreams of the many future pizzas to try danced in my head. Unfortunately, Penora’s Cheese and Pepperoni pizza was disappointing. The extremely doughy crust is just not my style. I’m curious what other people have to say about this pizza. Are there people out there that enjoy the dough? The pizza almost seemed like Chicago style deep dish gone wrong. What do you think?

Tester Observations:

CRUST:  very doughy, didn’t finish crust – tasted too doughy, almost not fully cooked

SAUCE: sweet, could have been more of it

CHEESE: a lot of cheese, not evenly spread

PEPPERONI: really good, the only good part of the pizza

See where this pizza’s crust, sauce, cheese and pep fall on our observation meters. More importantly – what rating does it get on our LIKE-O-METER:
