Sometimes you just need a giant plate of nachos to share, and with all of the bars and breweries we have in our city, it’s no surprise that we have some truly amazing options. Some places you expect them to have a decent nacho platter and others you might be surprised to find not just nachos, but some of the best! Whether it’s classic or has a unique flair, they’re all worth a try. Here are some of our favorites around the city:
1000 Elmwood Avenue Buffalo, NY 14222
Breezy Burrito Bar is located in the heart of the Elmwood Village. Serving build your own burritos, quesadillas, sizzling fajitas, chimichangas and more, they also have a full bar specializing in quality tequila, mezcal, margaritas, and a rotation of eight local, seasonal drafts.

Thin Man completely caught us off guard, having probably our favorite nachos in the city. They take their IPA beer, Burning Money, and create a beer cheese which is then smothered over thick crispy tortillas. They top it with spicy jalapeños, pico de gallo, plenty of mozzarella and cheddar, along with guacamole and cilantro lime crema. We asked for a side of sour cream, and dived in with a flight on the side to wash it down.
3. Deep South
291 Ellicott St. Buffalo, NY 14203 / 1707 Hertel Ave. Buffalo, NY 14216
If you haven’t heard about the nachos at Deep South Taco yet, you must be living under a rock. They’re famous for coating every single chip with plenty of toppings and cheese from top to bottom. No chip left naked! They cover their nachos with the three cheese tequila queso and add some salty cotija cheese, cilantro, charro beans, jalapeño, juicy tomatoes, and flavorful green onion with a few different meat options like chicken, pork, and carne asada.
2470 Military Rd. Niagara Falls, NY / 5445 Transit Rd. Clarence, NY 14031 / 634 Main St. East Aurora, NY 14052 / 810 Center St. Lewiston, NY 14092
Griffon always does a great job with all of their dishes. Even their side of mac & cheese made with smoky gouda is just completely out of this world. It should come as no surprise with how good their other food is, that their nachos are out of this world. Their nachos consist of a mountain of colorful tortilla chips piled high with roasted corn, black beans, fresh salsa, queso, black olives, shredded monterey jack cheese, shredded cheddar, and then baked until the cheese is all melted, coating every chip. Once they take them out of the oven, they top them with lettuce, tomato, cilantro, and Mexican Crema. For an up charge you can add crispy tofu, chicken, or beef tenderloin but, they are just as good on their own!
1 Naval Park Cove, Buffalo, NY 14202 (Seasonal)
One of my favorite dishes to enjoy, especially when it gets warmer and you can enjoy their patio, is from Liberty Hound. They make their own version of nachos called ahi tuna nachos with crispy fried wontons topped seaweed salad, green onion, shredded carrots, sesame seeds, and sriracha mayo with plump pieces of ahi tuna on top. These are absolutely delicious and a must try if you haven’t yet!
