Based on the constant flow of people at the Poppyseed it is pretty well known in the south towns. Swing by the mall, Wegmans, BJs, Home Depot etc., and locals say, “hey let’s have _______ at Poppyseed while we’re in the area.” One big reason is the awesome salads they dish up day in and day out.
The Fall Harvest Salad is a family favorite- Diced walnuts, raisins, roasted sun seeds, fresh sliced apples, mandarin oranges, sun-dried cranberries & asiago cheese over a spring mix ($11). I ordered mine with marinated grilled chicken breast (add $2.99). Protein or not these salads are a meal, not a side. The plate measures ~12 inches.
Every salad is served with really good grilled pita. Dressing choices are extensive: homemade poppyseed, yogurt garlic dill, Greek, blue cheese, ranch, salsa ranch, cusabi (cucumber and wasabi), low-cal vinaigrettes, balsamic or raspberry.
Some of the other salads on the menu: Chicken Souvlaki, Venetian Chicken, Bocconcini, Popeye Chicken, Buffalo Chicken Finger, Moroccan Tuna, Jamaican Chicken, Gorgonzola Sirloin, Sausalito Sirloin, April Shower. Check the menu for details.
Less sensible dinners will be happy to know that they have a lot of other food, including a decent burger, and their list of local craft beers in the bottle is impressive.
