The 14th Biennial Art Auction on Saturday, March 24th is the place to be for local art lovers. CEPA Gallery invites you to one of Buffalo’s most historic buildings where you will have the rare chance to see Buffalo’s biggest gallery auction in action. This year’s venue, the recently transformed Hotel Henry, offers attendees a central location and modern, welcoming atmosphere.

The auction will take place on Saturday night from 5:30 – 8pm. Host CEPA Gallery is excited to welcome back Christopher Mahoney as auctioneer and offer participants a chance to purchase work by a variety of locally, nationally, and internationally acclaimed artists.

At the auction you’ll encounter avant-garde work by Hollis Frampton, contemporary visual artist Tatana Kellner, light drawings by David Lebe, trans-cultural photography by Deborah Jack, innovative photo sequencing work by Duane Michals, Ellen Carey’s unique Polaroid Pulls, conceptual art by John Baldessari, historically significant work by Robert Hirsch, William Wegman’s playful photography of his Weimaraner dogs, socially critical photography by Cindy Sherman, and work by acclaimed documentary photographer Milton Rogovin.

General Admission to the auction offers complimentary valet parking, a lavish buffet with open bar, a full-color auction catalogue and auction bid paddle. Rogovin Circle admission provides exclusive programming, including an invitation to the VIP auction preview party on Thursday, March 1. The Rogovin Circle preview event, sponsored by ABC-Amega, will be held in their 4th floor office space at 500 Seneca.

Free Preview Party

The auction preview exhibition opens at CEPA Gallery on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and will remain on view until Friday, March 16. The exhibition is free of charge and open to the public, providing a unique opportunity to view artwork/auction lots in a gallery setting.
