We love to see a local restaurant in business for decades. It means they’re doing something right, right? Gramma Mora’s is a staple in the North Buffalo community – here’s why:

The Story of Gramma Mora

Gramma Mora’s is a family restaurant with recipes handed down from generation to generation. It all began with – you guessed it – Gramma Mora, who’s story begins across the border. The Mora family lived in Mexico and migrated to the US over 100 years ago. Having brought recipes from home, Gramma Mora introduced many to Mexican cuisine in the area.

In 1980 the family opened their first restaurant on Niagara Street – one of the first Mexican restaurants in town. Unfortunately, after 17 years in business that spot burnt to the ground, but that didn’t stop the Mora family from keeping their dream alive. They were determined to succeed, opening a new location on Hertel Avenue in 1999, and have remained determined to make customers feel like family ever since.

Fast Forward to 2018

Now, the affordability factor is a major one here. Serious, this street-style taco bar offers 3 tacos for $6. Choose your base of either chicken, ground beef, chorizo, pulled pork, shredded beef, or beans, and pile them tacos high with all your favorite toppings. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and remains authentic to those original family recipes. Check out their Happy Hour Monday-Friday from 4pm to 6pm featuring $6 appetizers like Mexican Pizza Quesadilla, Grilled Veggie Quesadilla, and Crab Quesadilla and $6 Margaritas!
