From the late 1800’s to the end of the first World War, Buffalo’s Belt Line made moving around Buffalo a welcome part of everyday life. Working dutifully hard as both a freight and commuter rail service, the line had 19 commuter stations supporting nearly two dozen trains per day. A trip cost 5 cents.
