Buffalo NY native Vincenza (Zina) Lapi, is a classically trained Chef (Johnson & Wales) bringing seven years experience to Casa Azul. She previously lent her talents to the kitchens of Buffalo upscale dining establishments Mike A’s at the Hotel Lafayette and Buffalo Proper before traveling most of the world (Europe, Latin America and Asia) learning authentic street fare before bringing back her knowledge to own and operate her widely successful and well received food truck “The Blue Balls Bus” .
Lapi is known for lighting up traditional Italian street food (Arancini) by elevating them to new heights with her own creative twists. She brings this visionary process to Casa Azul as well by taking traditional Mexican dishes and making them her own. She is acclaimed for her beautiful presentations, flavor combinations and cooking techniques.
